Meet your new coach, again. For the second year in a row, Cherokee Trail hires a new head football coach to run the program. After choosing from around 50 candidates, CT’s athletic director Steve Carpenter hired former Thunder Ridge High School head football coach Joe Johnson. After spending 16 successful seasons coaching at Thunder Ridge, Johnson will serve as head coach for the Cougars as well as an upper level science teacher. Former head coach Dain Mangnall stepped down in January after one season as head coach after the Cougars lost in the first game of the playoffs against Valor.
