Anayla Apolinar, Team Leader
This is Anayla Apolinar’s second year in digital media and also her first year as a team leader. She is in her senior year and was born in Miami, Florida before moving to Aurora, Colorado in 2017. With her previous experience and recognition from the Colorado Student Media Association, Anayla Apolinar hopes to capture and share many stories with Trail Media. One of her favorite things about being a part of the digital media team is interviewing people; she loves to touch base on different topics while gathering different perspectives. As a team leader, Anayla Apolinar is looking forward to using her leadership skills to help guide the process of storytelling.

Lily Buttshaw, Staff Reporter
Lily Buttshaw is a member of the Trail Media program this year. She is a junior student-athlete for Cherokee Trail. Buttshaw is a third-year varsity athlete as a junior, and she is also a part of the “Be Kind” campaign at school, although she is new to this campaign, she is hopeful and excited to see what it brings to the community.
In her free time, Buttshaw loves to hang out with her softball teammates and try new things with her friends. Buttshaw also loves to listen to music and spend time with her mom. This is her second year in Digital Media. Last year she enjoyed being able to share and cover a lot of new stories and topics for the community. This year she is excited to be a part of the program again, and to be able to cover more stories for CT and the community.

Ella Carter, Staff Reporter
Ella Carter is a new member of the Trail Media Program. She is now in her junior year here at Cherokee Trail. Carter joined Trail Media to spread the word about stories that might be traditionally overlooked throughout the school. She plans on pursuing mass communications and sports broadcasting in college.
Other than Trail Media, Carter is on the varsity softball team and a flutist in the wind ensemble at the school. She loves hanging out with her teammates and making everybody feel included and appreciated.
Carter is excited to see what the future holds and where her opportunities will take her!

Richie Nguyen, Managing Editor
Richie Nguyen is a Senior and he is an Editor for Trail Media, having been on staff for almost 2 years now. He wants to create a meaningful impact within his stories here at CT. Nguyen joined Digital Media because he wanted to use his voice to empower those who aren’t heard.
Excluding Digital Media, Nguyen is the president of AAPI Student Association and a part of the Orchestra program. He plays the violin and has been playing for almost 7 years now.
Beyond CT, Nguyen is also a part of the Rocky Mountain AANHPI Student Coalition, a nonprofit highlighting AANHPI voices across the state. As the year passes, Nguyen hopes to create change as his legacy before he graduates.
