The CT Lady Cougars softball team’s season is underway. Trying to carry the momentum from their state finals appearance into this one by using their losses as motivation.
The team often hangs out individually and treats each other like family, and they are comfortable around each other. They often hype each other up in the dugouts and bring up their whole team’s spirit and attitudes. Player Izzy Becker highlights this.
“Yeah, I think there was all-around great team communication on and off the field, and great cheering in the dugout. I think it was one of the most hype games all year,” said Becker.
The team bond definitely helps them feel more confident and vocal. They often go to eat after games, which helps improve communication and trust in each other.
“It was a really good game, we had really good offense and defense, and it was really good team effort,” said Taylen Shaver when asked about the team’s gameplay. After the win against Valor, the team’s energy was lifted, and the moral boost was translated into the coaching staff.
“Some goals CT has is to definitely try to make it to Saturday in the state finals competition, but we have to try our best on all levels to improve.” Says Senior Lily Buttshaw, after all the hard work last year, the team fell short. But using it as motivation and fuel, the team continues to improve..
The Lady Cougars use every game to enhance their gameplay, learn better mechanics, and improve as a whole. To conquer their goals, they have a long season ahead. But even with the other teams’ competition, they have proved to themselves they are good enough to make it to the state finals.
