Hunt’s Downfall

Have you ever heard the saying that your life can change with a single decision, it happened to NFL Kansas City Chiefs player Kareem Hunt. At 23 years old he was seen as one of the NFL’s most productive running backs because of the 150 points he scored in the two seasons he played for the Chiefs. Kareem Hunt was in a four-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs starting in the 2017 season. But the deal changed because of a recently released video of him in a Cleveland hotel in February attacking a girl who has yet to be identified. After this video was released, the NFL began an investigation and on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, meaning he is not allowed to practice, play, or attend any NFL games until the investigation has been completed. The Kansas City Chiefs have kicked him off of their team for the remainder of the 2018 season. In addition to Hunt losing his professional career, he lost his Under Armour endorsement and was removed from the Madden 19 video game. Anyone who had Hunt on their ultimate team for this game will find that he has been replaced with a player with almost identical stats. In an ESPN interview with Lisa Salters, Hunt said that he, “made a poor decision and I’m willing to take full responsibility for any actions that come from this point on.” Hunt also said, “I regret the entire thing, everything. I’m gonna take the time, like I said, to better myself and learn from this.” Hunt has lost almost everything, but he is sincerely sorry for it and I think he will try to rebuild his career. One incident has lost Kareem Hunt his football career and will take a long time to repair. This affects our local Chiefs fans at Cherokee Trail as well, Jackson Lee (12) said,“It’s a tough situation but, I don’t think that he should lose his career over one incident, and he’s so essential to the team.” Many Chiefs fans are worried for the team and how they will perform in the future. But that is currently not known and nobody really knows what is to come of Hunt’s future with the NFL.
