Everlasting friendships. Comforting community. Applicable skills.
These are a few benefits of being a part of the Technology Student Association (TSA) according to members of the organization. “It gives me a culture, a club, and people that I can always go to if I have a problem, especially as an officer. I appreciate it knowing that I have people I can talk to very easily, and knowing that I’m that person for a lot of people,” said Elizabeth Ayler, an officer of the club.
TSA teaches students about leadership, engineering, science, and many other technological-based activities. However, the students who are a part of the club end up learning the value of having a support system in the school. With the help of their peers and advisors, “We make sure that students know that it doesn’t matter what background you come from that we want you in TSA because technology doesn’t know who you are,” said Mr. Ben Nuebel, one of the three advisors of TSA.
Mr. Nuebel feels that it is imperative that TSA is a welcoming place for students of any background or race. “TSA is a pretty diverse group of students who all share a common reason to keep showing up to that room. It is blended by a love of technology and STEM. It highlights the best of our students and the diversity of our students,” said Samantha Noesen, a co-president of the club. It’s a club of people who all share the same love for technology. Students can find the people they relate to as a bonus to the leadership skills they attain.
Because TSA competitions offer over 200 events, everyone will find their place and their people.
To the students within this organization, TSA is home.
