“I just miss being a part of a team, it was just nice being a part of that community,” said sophomore Leo McDonell. Last spring, McDonell tried out for the Cherokee Trail baseball team. After a long process, McDonell ended up making the freshman team. After a two-month-long season with 19 games and ten season losses, he joined Lightning Baseball 16U and played for them all summer. McDonell decided to quit baseball after the summer season even though baseball was a part of his life for eight years of baseball. Now, McDonell plans to pursue his academics without the pressure of baseball.
