Richie Nguyen, Staff Reporter
Richie Nguyen is a Junior and this is his first year being a part of digital media. He hopes to empower voices and give a platform for stories that aren’t obvious here at CT. Excluding Digital Media, Nguyen is part of the Business program and Orchestra program. He plays the violin and has been playing for almost 6 years now. He loves music from playing to listening in his free time. Nguyen also started the first AAPI Student Association and hopes to continue running the club until he graduates. As the year passes, Nguyen will work towards making enriching stories and giving a voice to those who aren’t heard.

Chloe Wyszinski, Staff Reporter
Chloe Wyszinski is a sophomore on the digital media team. Wyszinski is from Toronto, Ontario, and travels back home annually. Wyszinski has a passion for storytelling and hopes that her stories will bring the community together. Outside of Digital media Wyszinski plays varsity tennis, competes on the debate team, and loves snowboarding terrain park. Overall, Wyszinski can’t wait to create more compelling stories for our cougar community throughout the year.

Christopher Rodriguez, Staff Reporter
Cristopher Rodriguez is a Senior and has been in the Journalism program for all four of his years in high school. As well as being in Journalism for four years he has also been in the debate program since his freshman year. Rodriguez joined these classes because of his love for talking to people and learning new things. So that’s why he especially loves Journalism. In the program, he has been able to talk to so many new and different people and tell their stories. This year he hopes to continue telling stories and hopefully get a little better at it too.

Kegan McLaughlin, Staff Reporter
Kegan McLaughlin is a class of 2027 sophomore and is a member of the Trail Media staff. This is McLaughlin’s first year as a staff member. Because of his experience in Intro to Journalism and other smaller media classes such as Photography in 8th grade, McLaughlin is ready to take on the challenges that being a Trial Media staff member will hold. McLaughlin wanted to join digital media because, in his freshman year in Intro to Journalism, he loved the class and the freedom of expression it gave him and wanted to have that experience more throughout high school. Outside of being a member of trial media, McLaughlin plays the guitar and sings he even used to be the lead singer in a band.

Jace Lightner, Staff Reporter
Jace Lightner is a sophomore in digital media, Lightner is from Cincinnati Ohio and he travels there every once in a while. Lightner enjoys being out and being with friends and family and exploring new places. He also really enjoys being in the mountains.

Wesley James, Staff Reporter
Wesley James is a sophomore on the digital media team. James is from Baltimore, Maryland, and travels there for the holidays. James has a passion for sports and anything related to physical activities. Outside of digital media, James plays baseball and basketball for the school. James is super excited to bring the funniest, and most interesting stories to trail medial, in the most fun way possible.

Piercyn Gilbert, Staff Reporter
Piercyn Gilbert is a first-year Trail Media reporter, founder, and owner of P Productions, a part of the class of 2025. Originally from Houston, Texas, in 2016 he made his big move to Aurora, Colorado at the age of 8, if only he knew what was ahead of him. Determined to make it to Los Angeles, California, for film production, he’s taking every opportunity and step to mark his name, embracing to his fellow youth that anything is possible as long as you work hard, and never give up. As a part of the Trail Media team, his goal is to take advantage of his senior year and be involved in his community as much as possible. Follow along, and don’t blink or else you might miss a shot.

Giavelle Salsig, Staff Reporter
Giavelle Salsig is a Junior within Trail Media. Saksig is from Phoenix, Arizona, and loves going back to visit. This year is her first year in digital media, and she has experience in video production. Salsig is most excited to create stories that inspire one individual to another and share trial stories. Salsig is a third-year varsity swimmer and enjoys the outdoors. Salsig is excited to be a part of digital media this year and cannot wait for the stories that will be created.

Harper Forestieri, Staff Reporter
Harper Forestieri is a sophomore and this is her first year as part of the digital media staff and her second year in journalism. She joined the program as a way to better her social skills but she ended up falling in love with the art of storytelling. Her goal as a part of this team is to tell the stories that need to be told and improve her videography skills.

Shishyan Bhatta, Team Leader
Shishyan Bhatta is a fourth-year journalism student and it’s his third year in Trail Media. In his time on the team, he has reported on various topics ranging from telling stories about the community, to helping students manage stress. Bhatta has also earned recognition from the Colorado Student Media Association for multiple stories he worked on. When he’s not making stories about the Trail he likes to play video games, take photos, and train BJJ and kickboxing.

Michael Mueller, Staff Reporter
Michael Mueller is a first-year Trail Media staff reporter who already really likes the program. Mueller joined the program because the program supervisor Mrs. Riggs was his teacher the previous year and that encouraged him to make the move from video production to Trail Media. Another part of the school Mueller is involved in is digital art. Outside of school, Mueller likes to play video games, his favorite video game is Call of Duty.

Anayla Apolinar, Team Leader
This is Anayla Apolinar’s second year in digital media and also her first year as a team leader. She is in her senior year and was born in Miami, Florida before moving to Aurora, Colorado in 2017. With her previous experience and recognition from the Colorado Student Media Association, Anayla Apolinar hopes to capture and share many stories with Trail Media. One of her favorite things about being a part of the digital media team is interviewing people; she loves to touch base on different topics while gathering different perspectives. As a team leader, Anayla Apolinar is looking forward to using her leadership skills to help guide the process of storytelling.

Ella Carter, Staff Reporter
Ella Carter is a new member of the Trail Media Program. She is now in her junior year here at Cherokee Trail. Carter joined Trail Media to spread the word about stories that might be traditionally overlooked throughout the school. She plans on pursuing mass communications and sports broadcasting in college.
Other than Trail Media, Carter is on the varsity softball team and a flutist in the wind ensemble at the school. She loves hanging out with her teammates and making everybody feel included and appreciated.
Carter is excited to see what the future holds and where her opportunities will take her!
