It’s rare to find an athlete who can dominate in one sport- let alone three. But Junior Jordan Mitchell, A Varsity starter in football, basketball, and track, has become one of the most impressive multi-sport athletes at CT. His work ethic and leadership continue to push every team he is on to a higher level.
Jordan recently completed his football season, where he made a major impact on both sides of the ball. His speed and constant competitiveness helped elevate the entire team. This season also marked a huge milestone in his athletic journey: He received his first Division l football offer from Syracuse University. “Getting that offer was crazy- it felt like all the work I have been putting in is finally getting recognized,” Jordan said. “It just motivates me to work even harder.”
Even during the football season, Jordan stayed committed to basketball. He competed in several fall basketball games while still suiting up for Friday night football. Managing both sports simultaneously is something few athletes can do, but Jordan remained”. It was a lot, but I wanted to be there for my Basketball team too. I just tried to give my best in both,” said Jordan.
As basketball season begins, Jordan is stepping into a bigger role than ever. With Football behind him, he is fully locked in on helping lead the varsity basketball team through a competitive schedule. Jordan says he’s excited for the momentum from football into the gym and pushing himself to improve every game.
Jordan shifts his focus from basketball to track, making an immediate impact while using the season to build more speed and strength for football and basketball.
