The seniors reflect on the years they’ve spent building their team. For a player like Aaliyah Broadus, this season carries extra meaning. Aaliyah Broadus said, “We’ve been playing together for years, so this season feels different. We really believe we can win the state this year. I want to give it everything I have.”In the locker room before the game, Milania Gutierrez sits focused and locked in, preparing mentally for the challenge ahead. Even though she is one of the younger players on the team, she understands the responsibility of leadership and setting the tone for her teammates. Milania Gutierrez (Sophomore) said, “I might be young, but when I’m on the court, I have to lead. Fan support helps motivate the team and reminds them they are not playing alone. Milania Gutierrez said, “When I feel the energy of the crowd, it makes me play better, and it makes me smile. Hearing everyone making noise makes me feel like we’re not playing alone.”Seniors Aaliyah Broadus, Hannah Hazim, and Karson Chaney share a moment together, showing the strong bond they have built over the years as teammates and friends. Their friendship off the court helps them work together and lead the team during games. Karson Chaney said, “Off the court, we are for sure family. But on the court, it is our job to lead. Aaliyah Broadus said, “I wouldn’t have asked for anyone else to play 4 years of high school basketball with.”The seniors gather on the court with their families, celebrating the support that has carried them through the season. For the team, every game is for the people who have always been there. Aaliyah Broadus said, “At the end of the day, these are the people who always have our backs. We will win this for them.”
Over the course of their high school careers, these seniors have grown together on and off the court, building really strong bonds, leadership, and trust. From fall season practices to big game moments, each player brings energy, focus, and heart to the team. Through support, encouragement, and determination, they aim to finish their final season with one ultimate goal: a state championship. This season captures their journey, their friendship, and the teamwork that has made it all possible.
