Up a long driveway behind a small set of trees, lies a yellow two story farmhouse in the middle of the country.
In that country house is where Megan Guttenberg (11) has the most memories of the holidays with her family, as the house belongs to her grandparents on her dad’s side.
Even though Megan believes herself to be perceived as basic for some of her likes, people don’t let themselves see beneath the surface of who she truly is.
While, yes, she may like things that can make her be seen as basic, such as white jeeps, Starbucks, and the clothes she wears, that isn’t everything that meets the eye for Megan.
She also enjoys things such as horror games, Five Nights at Freddy’s for example, has a real love for indie music, and grew up with music from Billy Joel always playing.
Part of her growing up listening to Billy Joel in her house grew up with her, because it is music, listening and dancing to it, that helps her feel like a kid again. “My favorite type of music to listen to would have to be Glass Animals and Arctic Monkeys, because their music is something I can listen to in whatever mood I’m in,” Megan Guttenberg (11) said.
As for Megan’s love of horror games, that love was created when she was in elementary school with one of her best friends at the time, “I met my best friend when I saw her drawing a picture and started talking to her. We quickly became really close and grew together.” Guttenberg (11) said. While their favorite horror game started with Five Nights at Freddy’s and it just grew for both of them over time.
Now as a junior at Cherokee Trail, she has joined the Digital Media Staff for the first time. After taking video production in her sophomore year, Megan found she has a real love for editing and producing videos. So this year she is really excited to help contribute to something bigger than herself and leave her legacy at this school.
