Aubrey Nicholls

Aubrey Nicholls, Staff Reporter

Although she moved often throughout her childhood, Aubrey Nicholls (10) finds herself most at home with her house in Arizona. She moved to the tan-shingled house in the third grade and left a mere three years later.

That’s when she started her life as a kid in Colorado.

Growing up, Aubrey loved to read. She would spend her days deep in a Fantasy book like Land of Stories or Harry Potter. When she would get in trouble, her parents would take away reading as a punishment. Even with that, Aubrey loves her family and is very close with them to this day.

Aubrey realized she was growing up when her parents gave her more freedom. She claims she grew up on rap music on her dad's side, and country on her moms. “People would expect me to like songs like ‘Left Hand Free’, but I also like ‘I Wanna be Your Slave”, Nicholls (10) claims when asked about her current music taste.

Holidays were a favorite in the Nicholls’ household. When her uncle could come over, he would make Ceviche, a dish that is based on fish, corn, onions, and a lot of flavor. Ceviche is a traditional Peruvian dish. This was, and still is Aubrey’s favorite meal.

One of Aubrey’s favorite things in school is cheerleading. She started cheer when she was a freshman, and plans to continue. She joined Digital Media after realizing she would want to become a sports journalist. If not that, Aubrey finds interest in being a Neonatal Surgeon.

Aubrey has no lack of adventure and determination, which is what makes her a perfect addition to the Cherokee Trail Digital Media program.
